He's also an 83 year old white man, and we learned with Biden that the democrats don't like that.
I don't think he has a huge base of people asking him to run for president again. Even being a Bernie bro, I know his chance for that passed back in 2020. Hopefully, we as a society will be ready for the next person who takes up the fight.
Between the two, I like Sanders more...but I want to see AOC on the ballot, not him. And I won't pretend it's not ageism - I am so tired of old people running the country.
If AOC was president, Sanders would surely get an important role and continue to do great work. The presidency is a LOT of work, it ages you fast.
I agree. I think the AOC/Trump split ticket proves she has more appeal than we thought. Or at least more than I thought. I suppose I shouldn't underestimate the power of the change candidate when the system is this broken.
If you can't see the cognitive differences between these two then... You might be Joe Biden.
Yeah, but where will he be in 4 years? Age only goes one way.
The point was it was less about democrats having an issue with age and more cognitive decline. If Biden seemed more cogent during the election then I doubt Kamala would have replaced him.
Oh look. Age suddenly matters again now that we're talking about an old progressive.
Biden won because he wasn't progressive in the slightest. It's a sad truth.
Biden was handed the 2020 primaries for that reason.
Age is just one of so many things the DNC needs to focus and do better on when running candidates.
