the good old "how dare you desire for your life to be better when there's people who's lives are worse!"
The go-to "you aren't allowed to complain" that I heard was "well there are children starving in Africa"
We don't compare trauma. This isn't a competition.
The trauma of hearing some weak ass reason of having to eat my peas? Lol
There was a liberating moment when I learned that just feeling awful was not an effective way to stop wars.

Same in the 80s. We made pretty songs like "We are the world" and sent fucktons of rice to Africa that rot because dictators wanted to keep it. Fun times.
If I hear that, I show the stupidity by doing the opposite:
