/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

@jawa21@startrek.website for realizing that the line used to be "want to be added to the sidebar?" and capitalized on it. Congratulations and welcome to the sidebar. Stamets is both ashamed and proud.

That's Skyler checking her boss' phone, who she is having an affair with.

[–] PrimeMinisterKeyes@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago

Kevin and Skyler, at Tanagra.

I'd love to see this in haiku form, but it doesn't fit the rhythm

She checks your phone to see if you're cheating
but all she finds
are star trek memes

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

She checks your phone to see if you're cheating

but all she finds

Is Star Trek memeing

Not sure if it fits a haiku pattern, but how about that?

[–] teft@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

~~Haikus are 7-5-7 for syllable patterns. This would be the correct lines:~~

~~She checks your phone to see if~~

~~you're cheating but all~~

~~she finds is Star Trek memeing~~

I went to check because the rhythm felt wrong. Haikus are 5-7-5. We're two syllables too long. Maybe this would work:

She checks your phone to

see if you cheat but all she

finds are Star Trek memes

Now a limerick!
A young Vulcan once lived in Nantucket
His logic so sharp he could... I don't know what to put next.

[–] teft@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

There once was a Vulcan from Nantucket

With a logic so sharp he could pinch hit

In an old human game

Which he loses, so lame

and the rhyme for Nantucket? Amok it.

A Vulcan they called Mister Jibbles
once had a basket of tribbles
they bred all night long, multiplied by the dawn
and caused lots of ~~trouble~~ mayhem and giggles!

EDIT: take a wild guess
EDIT2: the Vulcan with logical giggles!

Kevin Uxbridge? He's a Douwd and committed a genocide.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Yeah, but he's old and lonely, so everything's cool.

[–] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

why does he have a 214 page slideshow titled "best neelix drips"?

[–] aaaa@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

Neelix drip sounds like a gastrointestinal condition. Probably brought on by too much leola root

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 3 points 4 months ago

that guy in the background is not nearly fit enough to be me.
