There are only 20 cars. How hard is it to measure 20 planks?

It takes about 30 minutes to check a plank. If it can be done in parallel then that's not too bad, if not 10 hours is too long.

Would depend how long parc fermรฉ lasts after the race, what equipment they're using to test, etc.

I'm not sure, but it's telling that Merc and Ferrari were the only teams who ran their cars so aggressively at the USGP. RB and McLaren actually raised their cars and planned for it, thus not failing the post-race inspection.
