Average Lemmy enjoyer:

Yippee-ki-yay, motherfuckers, it's Christmas in July!

Die Hard follows New York City police detective John McClane (Willis) who is caught up in a terrorist takeover of a Los Angeles skyscraper while visiting his estranged wife.

One of the reasons this movie has endured is because it's so well written. Exposition is handled smoothly (through various natural conversations), minor characters are personalized briefly and efficiently, and the suspense just doesn't let up.

Another reason is Alan Rickman.

Black Belt (2007 480p) (www.youtube.com)

Black Belt (2007), known as Kuro-obi (黒帯) in Japan, is a Japanese martial arts drama film directed by Shunichi Nagasaki. It focuses mainly on the martial art of Karate. It is notable for excluding the usual exaggerations of the genre. The lead roles were played by karate experts, and no special effects were used.[2][3] In the film, three students of an elderly karate master decides among themselves on who deserves their master's black belt. ... The events take place in 1932 in Japanese-occupied Manchuria, in which the corrupt leaders of the Japanese army are trying to take over all the Karate dojos (a kind of training hall) for their own benefit.

The link above has the Japanese dub and English subtitles, but has an annoying watermark. If you want something else, here are your choices:

Fun fact: the actors who play the three students are each an expert in a different karate tradition: Shotokan, Goju-Ryu, and Kyokushin.

This is one of those ~~Lifetime~~ CBS TV movies about all the terrible things that can happen to your kids. In this case, a sweet n innocent young girl from smalltown Kansas moves to wicked LA in the 80s because life back home is boring and she has way too many responsibilities. Naturally she is soon partying and doing... uh... "films." This would all be just kind of campy except that it's based on a true story and it doesn't end well.

Content warningsuicide - the movie begins and ends with it.

The Signal is a full mind bender of a movie. If you haven't seen it or heard of it, go in blind. It's not a pleasant movie but any means, but a fantastic independent psychological thriller. One of my favorites.

Movie synopsis

Movie synopsisMya (Anessa Ramsey) and Ben (Justin Welborn) are very much in love, but she cannot quite find the courage to leave her awful husband, Lewis (A.J. Bowen). However, when a mysterious transmission starts turning people, including Lewis, into murderous maniacs, the lovers must go on the run

Two fallen angels who were ejected from paradise find themselves banned in Wisconsin. They are now headed for New Jersey where they find a loophole that can get them back into heaven. The only catch is that it will destroy humanity. A group bands together to stop them.

Because Harvey Weinstein's not only a creep but a total POS, there's no way to stream this movie on any streaming services and it's beyond Kevin Smith's control at this point. But it's definitely one of his funnier films though may not be everybody's cup of tea. But, if you like Kevin Smith, definitely watch this. Probably won't be up long but, who knows?
