I literally just got out of watching this. I'm not sure how I feel yet but as of right now I think it's much weaker than the two previous installments. I was not aware that it was a 2 part movie so that played a large part in feeling like it was incomplete as the movie was approaching it's end.
Not a fan of the movie trope of a character (especially a child) doing something extremely stupid only to be saved by the plot. Spike went from barely having the mental strength to kill a strung up zombie to playing hero explorer literally overnight.
No explanation for Isla being able to become badass in the middle of the night and killing the fat zombie then immediately going back to being sick.
Dr. Kelson was solid as a character and was probably the best fit for a 28 years later theme. But even with him, it made no sense why he didn't just kill the alpha that he kept tranquilizing. He explained that his little rope crossing kept them out only for the alpha to confront them the next morning.
No explanation for the logistics of pregnancy but we have to assume it was the alpha due to the few focused shots of his massive unit.
I assume some or a lot of this maybe explained in part two but I'm afraid they might just gloss past some of my earlier points.
As of right now 6/10.
Note the doctor is able to paralyze them and also made the comment "wondered what would happen" in regards to whether the baby would be infected or not. Found that slightly disturbing.
