What is geoscience?
Geoscience (also called Earth Science) is the study of Earth. Geoscience includes so much more than rocks and volcanoes, it studies the processes that form and shape Earth's surface, the natural resources we use, and how water and ecosystems are interconnected. Geoscience uses tools and techniques from other science fields as well, such as chemistry, physics, biology, and math! Read more...

Bodies and deaths .... unless the number of dead climb much much higher than they are now ... no one will do anything.
Not until we reach tens of thousands or even millions of deaths will we start wanting to actually do anything realistic ... and even then, we'll probably fight over the details of how or even if we should do anything.
Probably posted lots before but it's the first chapter of "Ministry for the Future", which describes the tipping point. It's uncomfortable reading. https://www.orbitbooks.net/orbit-excerpts/the-ministry-for-the-future/
