I’m going to paste a reply I got in regards to Brave and why you should change to a different browser
Brave is an advertising company, that blocks everyone, but them. Forcing over people and companies into their system.
They’re heavily in the blockchain ecosystem, with their own worthless crypto.
They take from open source projects (uBlock, Chromium, etc), but threaten legal action when someone forks them.
They install bloat/spyware on your Windows system (later claimed it was a mistake).
Brave, and its CEO is right-wing, lobbying against things like same-sex marriage.
Don't use Brave rewards, so don't care.

It's very brain dead to call the VPN service spyware. Besides, you're on Windows, you have a lot more spyware to worry about first.
Yeah, don't care. If we go examining every company by if their leaders are morally good or not, we are gonna come very empty.
But do you know what I care about? A browser that actually fucking works on mobile and doesn't crash every other time I open it up.
If nobody cared, nobody would have replied in the first place.

there is. it isn't shown in lemmy-ui but some other frontends expose it.

update: karma was actually removed from the API even before I posted about it here, but the change wasn't released yet then. Servers running lemmy >=0.19 no longer expose it.
