Do what I did and just get the screen fixed man. The s20 fe is such a good phone, I can't justify the cost of a new model when this one is more than fine. Little to no battery or performance drop after 2 years.
Yea i did that initially lol but th3 screen i got was poor quality.
I might as well get a new one. Its an extra 100 but ill try to sell my current as is for $100
Ah fair enough man. I'll tell you my problem, is that as much as I'd like to try other brands like Sony or whatever, my watch, earbuds, and TVs are all Samsung and everything works pretty well together (for the most part), so I'm hesitant to potentially fuck that up.
The ecosystem problem is true even if you don't use apple products. I'm in the same boat, everything's Samsung here, I'm scared to leave.
It's not so much that I'm scared. I mean I know I could overcome just about anything it might throw my way, but the hassle isn't worth it.
I fucking hate being in an "ecosystem", but at least this one is fairly open and allows some tinkering. So far so good on durability and performance from my Samsung products.
When I upgrade my gf's phone soon, it'll most likely be an s23 because she also has a watch and buds. So yeah. I guess i'm as big a sucker as anyone else.
As big a sucker me, lol.
I bought my S20 FE to get away from OnePlus for a change. I've been looking to get a smartwatch, and decided I don't want a Mi Warch or anything that's a glorified fitness band, so realistically a Galaxy Watch was my only choice. It just so happened that the Watch 5 got released and Buds 2 (non-pro) were bundled for preorders of the watch.
Just like that my single Samsung device turned into three. Then I decided to get a tablet, and at that point it was obvious I'd get a Galaxy Tab, thus completing the Samsung ecosystem lock-in. This shit does work, especially the nearly seamless reconnecting of earbuds between phone and tablet. Not nearly as good as what I've seen Apple could do, but honestly, I'm happy.
And now whenever I think about a potential future phone upgrade, Samsung appears to be the best choice. Fuck me haha. Not that I don't enjoy those toys.
So I took some time earlier and looked on Samsungs website to see what the current offers are. They are all terrible! Everything is so freaking expensive. Even our phone is still $500. It's crazy.
I was thinking s23 before, but that is completely unfeasible. Looks like she's getting an S21 FE. 🤷♂️
