Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I don't know the answer offhand, but one thing I would do is see whether Mpv is equally effected. By default, the number keys 1-8 will control those settings.
thanks, now I know how to play with mpv.
However, each time I close the program, changes I made to those settings are lost. Is this how mpv works?
You can set the default brightness in mpv in
~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf
like this:Look in the manpage (
man mpv
) for other settings. I think any option like--brightness=-10
can also be put intompv.conf
by removing the--
at the beginning.I don't know if there's a way to make mpv autosave this.
thanks
