I was so hyped when I saw it, can't wait to play it. I really hope that it will be for Switch (please don't be for Switch 2).
Hopefully if it is for switch 2, they'd have a switch version as well
I bet they will do this. I remember they did this with Twilight Princess as well.
Or Breath of the Wild. It was a launch title for the Switch but also had a version for the Wii U.
I vaguely remember hearing BOTW played better in some ways on Wii-U but I could be misremembering
In terms of gameplay I think the Sheikah Slate functions were mirrored on the Wii-U pad (at least that was likely the original intent.
The Wii-U emulator was also a lot more developed when BotW released, so if you pirated it at launch the Wii-U version was the one to go with.
I don't think they'd have announced the weaker version of the game first. The first preview of the game would have been from the best possible version they have to show off, so this trailer is probably exactly that. I think it's unlikely that this will be a dual-release game.
Which makes me worry for the success of the game. Having what should be a cornerstone game for the Switch being released on year 8 of the console's life span is not a good look. I want this to be good; I've been wanting this game ever since I finished Metroid Prime 3 back in 2007, I just hope it's not too late to still find success.
