I noticed this as a kid and my kid brain decided it had to be because my hands get more sunlight than my feet. Fingernails can photosynthesize right?

I noticed it as a kid too and figured it must be because I only pick my nose with my fingers. Boogers grow nails.

I only noticed in my 20s when I stopped biting my nails. I never realized how much I was biting and assumed the amount I bit off was equal to the amount I cut off my toe nails.
