Episode 80: A Test of Trust

So last we left off: Bells Hells, as they were finishing preparations to head on their recon mission to the red Moon of Ill Omen, Ruidus, had a bit of a fractured social moment that sent them to the four corners of Whitestone to figure out how best they can repair broken trust or concerns about each other's motivations or whatever dark passengers they carry from their past. As part of this conversation, Fearne wanted to recenter herself by visiting her Nana Morri and was decided amongst the troop that perhaps a visit to the Fey Realm to try and reconnect before heading into a very dangerous unknown was a good idea.
Upon asking Allura's help, she transported you all and escorted you to the Ligament Manor. After a brief conversation, FCG and Nana Morri got excited about the prospect of a team building exercise amongst you all. After a conversation, she wiped your memory of it and sent you on the first of three (exercises).
The first one was an honesty based expedition in which you all were in a ravine and had to reveal truths about yourselves and about your experiences in the world, which allowed you to escape from this dangerous chasm.
Completing that, you were sent to a test of communication, in which three volunteers had their sight robbed of them and were sent to walk without vision across very narrow and ever winding land bridges, with the possibility of falling into oblivion, which Orym did. It was Orym that volunteered for the final round with real stakes this time as the bridge collapsed behind him. But you all succeeded at this second venture.
With the second success behind you, you were brought to the third and final part of your team building therapy session. You were transported by Nana Morri to the middle of a massive Fey ruin, overgrown with vines and thorny brambles, faintly glowing remnants of whatever fey society fell here long ago, and you were introduced to two new creatures you hadn't seen before. These doppelganger-like fey creatures that apparently can not just take your form, but have been paying attention to your personalities, memories, and diving into your minds and thoughts since these whole number of therapy sessions began.
Here as they step out, Nana Morri, still standing with you amongst the central pool-- I'm going to outline once again what this was at the end of the last episode.

(Morrigan):"Hidden out amongst these ruins lie three sections of ivory branch, blanched pieces of a white tree among small altar basins. You must seek them out however you wish, but two of you will be replaced by my doppelganger friends. In this space, where illusions reign supreme, they can mimic the capabilities that you hold within yourselves, your own minds, feeling the pain psychically and converting it to believe it true. So only through care, watchful eyes, and trust in those you feel you can will you succeed to bring these three branches back. If even one is destroyed before it's returned, you fail."

This would've been the perfect M.B. song to remember"And I know it's just no use, when all your lies become your 'truths' and I don't care." Michelle Branch - Are You Happy Now?

(I had a ton of extra great screenshots that would've probably required their own post for context. Rather than delete them, I made this! Please enjoy!)

"Can't wait to get into this next team-building exercise. Doppelgängers sound neat!"

"I dunno. It seems like too many opportunities to troll for Sam to ignore."

"I still can't believe he got me to sing the anthem of the rivals of the Cowboys in the first campaign. He's a monster. But I survived the flames."

"Let's give him a chance, he's playing a robot enthusiastic about therapy. He's more likely to have too much to keep track of, as his character would want to learn from or rationalize every moment. We probably wont even notice."

"No way. Trust exercise and they're letting their guard down. I must hide my smile until I get it together, omigodomigodomigod."

"I can't believe my ears, I must be dreaming. Wake up, Sam, this isn't fair! What's This?"

Mon amis, the candy community is fractured.

The sweet confections we dissolve with our saliva expose us to ridicule from lecherous 'earts and minds.

I believe in a day when we can live peacefully again and the corrupted souls will feel shame for judging another because of their choice in 'ard candy.

Vive le Bonbon!

I know Marisha already said the trust exercise will be a version of Werewolf, however many also noticed the similarities to another game of anonymous betrayal. So, I put some prompts into DallE and this was my favorite result. It's almost like the LLM knew that F.C.G. wouldn't use a suit with legs.

What If...? Nana Morri transported the Bell's Hells into a game of Among Us?

This intensity brings out "The Perch"

and a look of madness briefly resembling the character played by Catherine Zeta-Jones in National Treasure

extra just a nice pic of Marisha and Ashley M ᕕ( ᐛ)ᕗ
