That’s a really cool space. Some dividers of some sort to offer separation for private spaces as you get more furniture. It might be small, but it can still be nice.

Do you sleep in the same bed then?

So much room for activities!

Its looks very nice, the skylight is pretty sick i bet!

[–] dogsnest@lemmy.world 41 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Much wiser to start with a bed rather than a treadmill.
A bed holds more clothing.

Yeah, space is quite tight. This room serves as the bedroom + living room. The other 2 rooms are the kitchen/dining room & bathroom. Is “studio” the proper term for this setup?

[–] dogsnest@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

That's what I'd call it...

[–] Breezy@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So do you like share a bed with your dad?

Daddy in Romanian is “tati” (affectionate for dad) and that’s also how I happen to call him! lol

it's a very nice apartment though.

[–] closealltabs@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is the rest of the apartment if you guys are wondering. The bare necessities.

[–] Syd@lemm.ee 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What does this cost? That looks really workable.

Is 50$k rent a month, or buying the apartment? if it's rent, is this the standard in the U.K. I know currency numbers can mean different in different countries but i have never heard of apartments in 30s$k, highest being 25$K

[–] DacoTaco@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

50k??? Fuck, thatd be 320k here haha

[–] closealltabs@sh.itjust.works 5 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

It was definitely a bargain. My dad and I lived at my grandparents’ until now. This is my dad’s first personally owned place. He’s worked really hard to save money (he’s turning 33 in April, very young). Spent all of his savings on this apartment, and we quite literally don’t have any more money left besides his monthly salary, haha.

[–] DacoTaco@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

You 2 should be fine, the essentials are there haha Good luck and enjoy!

[–] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Well thats cheap as hell nowadays, congrats. Especially in bucharest as i see from you replies.

[–] Syd@lemm.ee 6 points 1 day ago

Congratulations indeed! Give it some time and that place will be a beautiful home.

Attic apartment it seems, I hope the summers will be kind on you!

I love the sky light windows!

Good for you and your opportunity to get a place at a good deal! Looks like a nice clean slate with the necessities.

Frank Reynolds and Charlie Kelly are moving up in the world. What's your dad's toe knife situation?

On a more serious note, that place looks pretty sweet.

Also welcome to the fediverse! Notice your account is new lmao

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

sorta jelly. My wife and I have to much crap. Love that skylight.

[–] closealltabs@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Haha, it’s not really a design choice, it’s that my dad is kinda broke at the moment since he spent all of his savings buying this place (50k€). No more money for stuff…

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

yeah and unfortunately this is how the junk accumulates. Ideally we would buy a high quality thing that can do many things but we end up buying cheap things because money is tight to get us by but then it can't do as much so you buy other things and it gets bad but is still functional so you replace but keep it around just in case. Hope things go well. I myself am unemployed atm and im nervously watching my savings tick down. sucks. can't wait for this time period to be a bad memory.

[–] closealltabs@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Yeah. I’m personally most excited to get a TV in here.

May I ask which country you're in?

[–] closealltabs@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Romania. The price of this place was a deal though. Bought directly from seller, no agency, no extra fees… it was luck to find something so cheap.

Looks like the upstairs of a house in The Long Dark.

[–] closealltabs@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

“The long dark” is a pretty accurate way to describe Bucharest actually.

[–] a2part2@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Good price for Bucharest, no?

[–] closealltabs@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Great price. This was a luck find.
