Just never ever let anyone know that you know something about printers. Because everyone becomes super helpless and wants you to print for them.

Add anything technological (when you work with older people) and being able to lift heavier objects to that list too.

It’s not even a senior thing. You become the family/friend IT guy and the requests don’t always relate to what your experience is in. If it has a cable , you’re expected to know about it now (and fix it for free or cheap)

I’ve surprisingly always had the opposite experience. I went from generic IT guy to datacenter engineer and no one in my personal life asks me for anything lol.

Yeah, we do it all the time at work, but we get perks for it, so it's OK I guess.
