Those streets are wide enough to have parking on both sides and keep the bike lanes. Or they should just turn it into a living street or shared space since it’s a residential area anyway. Then there is no need for bike lanes, but cars have to drive slower and share the road with cyclists and pedestrians. Bet that would get pushback as well since these car brains want to drive 60 trough residential streets.

Recommended communities:
The worst possible bike lanes are those that run along the door zone of parked cars. The living street option is far better.
We once again limit our transportation options down to the worst one, so that society at large can pay the storage cost of automobiles.
