If you haven't checked out the Long War Mod do it this changes the game for XCOM 2 in such a way it becomes a different game all together.
A long guerilla campaign with hours of fun, and less problems with that pesky avatar timer.
I had so much fun with that mod, It should be on the steam workshop so its ez to install, I think there are other ways to install it too.
I can't even beat regular-length war. Damn snake lady and her BS action economy...
Despite the length its more forgiving, you get like a massive ammount of troops
Long War for Enemy Unknown is also amazing!
I never knew that EU had LW :o Long war of the Chosen is also nice but i like to sent the chosen to vacation for a more strung out war
