I don't know if Eldritch Blast is actually a unique color, but in my head it has always been an eerie shade of purple or green.
Having recently started reading Discworld, I am now contractually obligated to inform you that the color word you're looking for is octarine.
Man, I gotta read Discworld. Where did you start?
I'm going in published order, so I started with The Color of Magic.
Thanks! I'll start with that one, then.
Oblong Blast
I associate the word, Eldritch, with a dark purple color. So that spell has never been anything but a purple glob to me.
If I remember it's description right it's a blast of the power of your god
So whatever color your god/you want it to be, I'd imagine. Had a friend do tentacles that burst forward and slapped the shit out of enemies for hers.
I could check the sourcebook to confirm but that's a whole different app to switch to...
Tentacles that burst forward and slapped the shit out of enemies?
Grant us eyes, grant us eyes...
Aaaaaaroooooooóoooooooooo
I only have the SRD available right now and that describes it as "a beam of crackling energy" but yeah, this is far too attractive a stylistic opportunity to not make use of it.
Besides, "crackling energy" is pretty broad already and leaves room for a variety of colors, sounds, and particle effects. Going from there to "magical 120ft tentacle that disappears after a second" isn't that much to ask for.
One time, I flavored my EB by throwing mystical coins to my targets. I was playing a failed merchand that sold his soul for an edge.
EB is ripe for reflavoring. My favorite version was just gun. I made a cowboy warlock with magic revolvers he shot his Eldritch Blasts out of. Was lots of fun.
If it's a celestial warlock they might be a sub-contractor for the paladin's deity of choice!
And if someone's a Cleric or Paladin, they might follow an evil god. Where did the Warlock = evil idea come from?
Behold, the Pact of the Tome warlock, you even get ritual casting!
All my fire spells are violet and my lightning spells look like those plasma globes
I am playing a purple dragon who got partly cursed into being human; so I use Dragonborn stats but look human.
Partly cursed? So there are upsides to it besides looking human with the stamina of a giant purple dragon?
Nah, it’s just that the curse didn’t entirely take; which is why she’s a draconic bloodline sorcerer. She’s still kind of a dragon, and tends to vastly overestimate her abilities (she is the tank, and has 16 health at level 2)
By the pope, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
It's DEUS VULTing time.
