This is not a quote from Kropotkin. It would actually be the opposite of his writings, as he spent a whole book about how mutual aid was found in nature and was a contributing factor in the evolution of species.

In his book, Mutual Aid, a Factor of Evolution, exposes how mutual aid is present in many different ecosystems, both among same species as well as inter species. He also does some anthropological research to understand how mutual aid factors in primitive societies.

So, this quote not only is wrong as it was never said by Kropotkin, but it goes against his contributions in science (and anarchist theory).

Thanks for correcting this. I remember reading at least some of Mutual Aid as well and it stuck with me how he goes into detail about his observations on the cooperative aspects of nature. In fact, the only works I can think of off the top of my head that portray nature as inherently competitive structures are, like, The Lion King or The Jungle Book, lol, which is Disney movies, not science. The idea of it as inherently competitive seems to be mostly based on systems like colonialism and capitalism projecting.

Yup, read his book about mutual aid. It's very good to debunk the myth of human nature that many liberals like to use
