Is the trap that Ohio sucks to live in or anything more specific?

[-] SuperSoftAbby@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

Do Not Let Your Children Play In THe Corn.

[-] Infinitenonblondes@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

That’s…that’s not what children of the corn is about.

Don't correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe that word is ever used in the short story, only the movie, SO THERE!

He wants you too, Malachi

The cost of living in Ohio is very good. The housing market is a bit of a mess in general but definitely in Ohio. It's a seller's market that still hasn't recovered from the pandemic.

Unless they're talking about Children of the Corn (which is a short story, not a book) I don't know what King book they're referencing. And as a Grade A certified pedantic asshole SHORT STORIES DON'T COUNT.

[-] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 year ago

Adding to that; doesn't "Children.." take place in like Iowa or something? I can't think of a King book that takes place specifically in Ohio, but I also haven't really read his stuff the past decade

I was thinking Desperation but that was Nevada

[-] Uphillbothways@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago

I'm not a big fan of Stephen King but I love ass books. So conflicted.

Oh yeah, I love them thick and spread them... pages.

[-] Peruvia@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I'm confused, do you automatically get to be in posession of books that have ass pics in them once you live in Ohio? I'm moving there if that's the case lmao

I love how Ohio has become the go to meme state

[-] reev@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago

Meh, Ohio is for emo kids.

[-] itsnicodegallo@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago
