simplex is the true future of messaging imo. everything about it is perfect.
the only thing I'd add is identity severs. that way you can have simple usernames that normies are used to using to find you
Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.

It would be cool if you could create and destroy usernames at will. Combine that with some sort of federation and you are golden.
simplex is federated. anyone can create their own relay :)
and yeah im sure if there were identity servers, you'd be allowed full control

Wow, I was so engrained in Signal that I didn't even realize there was something more secure. Signal is now as useable as Whatapp. I still don't understand why people still use it. Is SimpleX usable and can I get my 80 year old mum to use it?
I would say yes. You download the app (playstore, appstore or fdroid), install it. Then on first time opening it you need to choose a pin for the app and an username for your first profile. Then you can start chating. The gui is pretty similar to signal. And it works pretty good so far. I had problems with calls last time I tried (but a few month back it worked).
Unfortunately most of these systems still expose the very private fact that you and so-and-so are talking to each other at all. Concealing the content is almost immaterial.
Who are you and your so-and-so in Simplex's case? It doesn't have identifiers and maintains separate connections to server for each identity (can be changed in the settings to go even further and maintain separate connection for each chat)
where can i see this setting?
Network & servers -> Transport isolation
i dont see this. what version/platform are you using?
edit: nvm you have to turn on developer options
