After CNN reached out to her family, they learned that the woman gave more than $200,000 in donations to Democratic political groups and candidates.

This whole thing is a plague, citizens United and this concept of pacs, and all this money in politics is absurd. I think in the modern day of internet and with each campaign setting up a website, and normal reporting and debates, town halls, and Rally's is sufficient, we don't need all these mailers, and constant ads, and texts, and so on and so on. it's more just a giant transfer of wealth from the people to networks and ad agencies.

All this money has turned politics towards sensationalism, and it's hurting society.

Anecdotal but my Grandfather was a new deal Democrat right up until he started getting dementia, spent the last few years of his life hooked to fox. Brain damage seems to turn people Republican.

Back before Biden dropped out I got a spam text to do a survey about Biden, but it was from a legitimate group of Senate Dems.

So I figured I complain enough, might as well do it directly.

The survey was 3 questions like "do you agree trump is a danger? Yes or no."

And you couldn't submit it until it took you a donation page with a 5 minute timer and no chance to skip.

Feeling I might as well keep going at this point, I waited.

When the timer expired, it reset to five minutes.

There was no way to submit the survey except donating, and it was designed to make you think you had to rush, and obviously each time it reset, it would change the donation back to $200.

It's some shit I'd expect only Republicans to pull.
