Where is the software engineer unable to troubleshoot their own program? Or the on call engineer ignoring storage alerts until the SAN fills up and marks all the datastores as offline.

Much like the 2 numpty I had a P1 calls with over the weekend.

An old colleague used to say something like "pretty much all developers agree that it's harder to debug code than to write it. So if you write code that takes all of your brain power to write, by definition you'll be unable to debug it."
