So my water chemistry professor was lecturing us about climate change, and said

"By the way, China is set to reach its 2030 carbon reduction goals in around 4 years." Which is the first time I've heard a professor say anything about China that wasn't red scare paranoia.

A student said incredulously, "How?!?!"

The professor just shugged and said "I dunno, ask them."

I fought the urge to explain how.

Communist planning and a high value placed on educating people and the science sector babyyyyy.

What an amazing power the left has, weekends, revolutions, unions, being the first to FUCKING SPACE. There is nothing we can't do when we get our shit together.

The left has the power to take down LITERAL KINGS. Holy shit.

The part of humanity that says "I want things to be better for everyone, and even if I can change the future for the better just a little, I will do everything I can to make that happen." will never die.

communism-will-win

Meanwhile the leaders of capitalism are shidding and farding themselves on stage in a nearly functioning empire on it last days. At it's peak greed and evil it can do nothing but destroy everything and then destroy itself. Pathetic. Unsustainable. Incompetent to the point that it loses every war it starts despite having the most expensive military in history (how is that even possible!). Compare that to what the left was doing at it's peak; being at the forefront of science (to the point where "mad Soviet scientist" was a trope in western propaganda), GOING TO FUCKING SPACE IN THE 50S! How did they even manage that with 50s technology? (Musk can barely pull that off with 2024 tech!). Hell, the US wasn't even interested in going to space until the Soviets did it and scared them into action.

Capitalism will be a footnote in history to remind people of how not to rule.

Humanity can do better and will do better, history has shown this.

I swear to god, my mental health, self esteem, and confidence are flying to heights not seen since I graduated high school. That may be a low bar to clear, but I cleared it! I still want to lose another 30 pounds to reach my goal weight, but already I no longer feel ashamed when I look at myself naked in the mirror.

I’ll start:

  • ASSANGE IS FREE!
  • I’m moving!

Edit: I meant hopepost in the sense of things which are giving you hope but some of you are posting things you’re hoping for, so here’s a few of mine:

  • I’m hoping that regardless of the results of the US election, we’ll be able to radicalize a lot of libs from it
  • I’m hoping ill be able to buy some of those Trader Joe’s rip-off taquis soon

Wait, you're telling me that I can use an OS that:

  • Doesn't require you to pay an arbitrary $100+ license fee to activate?
  • Installer is simple and to the point and allows you to test the OS before installing it?
  • Desktop UI looks modern while also being simple to use?
  • Can be dual booted with Windows in case I need to use Windows only software?
  • Can use programs like Steam, Bottles, Lutris and more to play my video games/run Windows software?
  • Receives major upgrades every two years and point releases every few months, but changes are always conservative?
  • Is constantly improving based on user experience and feedback and is entirely funded by donations and sponsorships instead of adware and rent-seeking practices?
  • Is built on GNU/Linux and free software from around the world made by activists and volunteers, one of the fastest growing operating systems in terms of features and utility?
  • Is customizable without feeling too overwhelming or feeling like you changed too much?
  • All it takes is a free afternoon and a USB stick with at least 4 GBs of space?
  • Has no Microsoft crapware, shitware, spyware and plain malware that everyone treats as normal?

Are you crazy? Is there really a third way? (yes, it isn't perfect, but it will be yours)

I mean think about life. It's so arbitrary sometimes. We're living in the universe where Donald Trump threw a McDonald's feast at the white house.

Why then, couldn't we live in the universe where someone like you gets just enough power to make the world a better place. What if by some clerical error like in Blank Check, you get all of Jeff Bezos' money and divide it evenly among every Amazon worker?

So much of life is unpredictable. You could be at the right place and right time to make an unselfish choice.

Remember this is bloomer thread so try to keep the dark irony to a minimum

Remember; our people, communists, have heroes in the struggle for Palestinian Liberation. You are not an edgy Soviet-stan, or Mao-aboo.

We all know this shits real, a lot of us have seen the Holocaust levels of genocidal violence being perpetrated against a captive people. Dead children, beautiful cities turned to rubble, the kind of shit you would see in a Western history text book chapter on WW2.

But before anyone tries to call you out for being some kinda "weirdo" or "radical" for supporting Palestinians or, fuck it, the freedom of any other people who are getting fucked over in a way that pales in comparison to the struggles of those in the imperial core, remember that this war is relevant to all of you who aren't JUST posters (although I love posting, and I will NEVER log off, even if they put me behind bars), you are believers in a better world and the capos can NEVER take that from you!

We have comrades in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine who have written their history in bullets and missiles against the occupationist Zionist forces. We have comrades in the Communist Party of Ukraine, who have had their friends and family forcibly conscripted into a WWI-esque meatgrinder in the name of a vulgar nationalist project backed by NATO. We have comrades in the Naxalite Maoist Communist Party of India and their brave insurgency. We have comrades in the People's Defense Units of Rojava who have stood against the Western puppets and collaborators of ISIS and Turkish nationalists. We have comrades in Communist Party of the Philippines who have fought for their people's freedom for DECADES. We have comrades on this very fucking website in the Chunka Luta Network who deserve your UNCRITICAL support against the injustice perpetrated against our comrades for CENTURIES.

Don't give the capos an inch. Not one step back, or God rest your soul. We will win and the ghouls that profit from all this misery will receive justice. The Red Banner is raised, we sing a hymn of history that our stories will be heard, that those stories are a single one of the People, and they never be silenced, no matter how many people they kill or imprison. All power to the People, you know what it is.

The (queer) kids are alright.

Recently, I went to a (historically extremely lib and very performative but I repeat myself) LGBT meetup and figured I'd test the waters with this patch from Off Color Decals. I was feeling a little fighty.

All my encounters were comrades. Best comment to summarize the vibe: "I used to worry about gun control a lot, but if the folks on the other side of the protest are armed, I'd much rather have rifles on our side too."

I got to invite a bunch of fresh-out-of-college queers to shooting lessons!

Oh and the guest speaker dropped three "fuck capitalism"s. Some of the oldheads bitched about it online later on, and basically got "Ok Boomer"ed.

I thought I could cause a scene/start an argument, and maybe grab one or two folks. Instead, the vibes may be shifting, and this gives me great hope.

I'm so proud of my nephews and niece (what's the plural for both nephews and nieces in english?) My oldest nephew is going to his first sleepover, they're gonna play switch, which is what I would be doing if I were his age nowadays. My middle nephew is getting really into sports, he's a lil trooper. My youngest nephew started taekwondo and loves it! My niece is happy and healthy, she's little over a year old and my big sis is already playing the classics for her, "More Than a Feeling" by Boston. Care-Comrade

My date went great (hexbear.net)

We watched that Imaginary movie which was pretty forgettable, then we went to get sushi and talked a bit about her recent move and my personal history and picked each others' brains. After that we went to a nearby park and walked around a few times while chatting some more, planning a second date, and after that we went to get some boba smoothies and talked even more. We made each other laugh a bunch and there's mutual good feelings.

All told we spent 7 hours together and I'm feeling good. I've never gotten a second date before. We're meeting again on Sunday for a hike at Vasquez Rocks. I'm going to soyface at all the Star Trek shooting locations and bring snacks and such. Feels good.

Don't forget comrades, this Friday is International Women's Day! In case you didn't know, IWD is originally a socialist and communist holiday that was started by workers and officially made a national holiday on March 8th in the good ol' USSR in 1917 (dont let the libs take credit). I first learned about from my Russian language professor in college, who taught us that in the Soviet Union citizens made it a tradition to get the women in their lives, mothers, sisters, friends, coworkers, flowers and other gifts to honor all that they do for us as workers and human beings. My sister learned about it and now puts it on our family calendar every year.

March 8th is a good day to keep this tradition alive. You don't even have to get anyone a material gift if you're hard up for money, like I am, its just a good day to give the women in your life a phone call or wish them a happy IWD in person. I even made a group chat for all my boys to remind them about the holiday this year.

Let's spread some love and appreciation this March 8th heart-sickle
