Just to clarify: when I boost a post, it doesn’t necessarily mean I agree with it.
Often, I do it just to give visibility (and, consequently, to see the comments) on the topic being discussed - especially if it’s a post from a BSD Cafe user.

I would consider using the feature to boost it with a comment. And then use that to briefly explaining why you think it needs visibility.

I would always assume a boost without any comment means you mostly agree with what's being said.

@kasperd Quote posts are coming to Mastodon (https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2024/10/trunk-tidbits-september-2024/). Let's see if people will accept it. For now, many are against them as on Twitter they've (also) been used in a very bad way.
