IMO this is not enshittification, it's not the websites fault they struggle with bots. It may not be the best strategy, but enshittification is when a digital service has its customers caugt with vendor lock-in and then exploits them for more profit
Enshittification is more than just scummy vendor lock-in tactics. There are multiple things that count towards enshittification. Using "bot detection" as an excuse to block users with ad blockers and privacy tools is just as scummy
