It’s repeating the same cycle, for profit social media will inevitably reach the same fate.
how do they make money? there's no ads and it's free
Phase one enshittification. They're burning VC money to acquire users, who they will then betray.
So, baseless speculation?
I'd rather say that it's "learning from history of similar services". Facebook also seemed nice in the beginning.
YouTube was like that too
even if they suddenly put ads on it (which would be stupid since no ads is one of their main selling points) it'd still be better than twitter/threads
