You can be intelligent and still stupid. Ask any owner of a ginger tom

There is no such thing as general intelligence. Favorite example: Dr. Ben Carson was a pediatric neurosurgeon. One of the best in the world. He also thinks the great pyramids were grain silos.

My brother-in-law's father is one of the most sought-after knee and back surgeons in the state where they live. To say this guy knows his shit would be an understatement... outside of the operating toom, I've never met someone so clueless. Somedays it amazes me he somehow managed learning to put his pants on first, and THEN his shoes. Hes not mentally disabled whatsoever yet struggles to grasp concepts that require any meaningful thought and yet is a very well know highly skilled, knowledgeable and talented leader in his very advanced field for ~30 years and still going strong. There's nothing wrong with him aside from being a bubbly airhead.

That’s how my dad is. Mechanical engineering degree but is entirely clueless about basically everything else, ranging from household cleaning to understanding other people’s motivations.
