If you think that's bad, imagine what it's like to not even be in the USA and have to hear about this guy every day for years too. It's inescapable, particularly online but also in daily life!

Some of the Lemmy mobile apps let one filter out posts by keywords. I just use the website, but maybe it's worth downloading one.

I really want to stop hearing about Musk.

Good suggestion! I do actually have filters with a lot of keywords already set up, pretty much entirely to get rid of USA politics because it's all complete dross, but it still seeps through occasionally. There's just too much of it for my poor keyword filter I suppose 😂

I would suggest ignoring news about the world's richest man and his lackey, the man running the country with the world's most powerful military and a shitload of nukes, might not be the best plan.

Not like we can affect change anyway, so what does it matter what they do? I'm not in the US so it's even more out of my hands than it would be for somebody in that country. I do already filter out Musk, Republican, Trump and a bunch of other USA politics but they still bleed through because it's an absolute torrent that never ends lol
