MODERATORS

Hi, it seems like I just got designated additional moderator for this community. This happend without any further communication with mod or anyone, so I'm pretty suprised.

I need to sort out if this was by accident, how it came to be, and where to move from here on.

Come abroad this journey and stay tuned 😂

Okay. Thanks for sharing.

I would have waited for about one day and planned next steps.

It'll be along the line that people should kind of vote on the /c/buyFromEU and /c/buyeuropean matter. We need to know where we are heading. If this community should persist, I would search for a team of moderators and put up a preliminary post with rules. Something including to be nice and excellent to each other.

Will do this maybe this evening.

If you have trouble finding new mods you can create a post in !waisenhaus@feddit.org. Feel free to dm me, if you have further questions or if any issues arise.

Currently I'm waiting to get into !main@feddit.org . I need to ask if there are any rules, hindering me doing mod. Bascially I need to know if I should move my account to your instance.

Wäre kein Problem, aber halt auch irgendwie schräg :-)

A local account is preferable, since reports don't federate. Other than that, I would appreciate it, if you were to connect a matrix account to the local lemmy account, but that's not mandatory.

Well having a team of mods, maybe some coming from feddit.org, would circumvent the need of everybody being on your instance. I wouldn't want to setup an additional matrix account for moderation and I don't want to sahre my personal one :-)

As long as multiple mods are able to receive reports it should be fine.

You also can't add mods using a remote account: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/38312525/16893470

Editing the community sidebar doesn't work: https://lemm.ee/post/53298142/17673948

You can't also update the banner and the avatar: https://lemm.ee/post/53298142/17674272

I feel a bit out of the loop here, may I ask what is the matter exactly?

There is a similar community on feddit.uk, which has more traffic and moderators.

Some of their users are advocating to basically merge both communities, and by merging they mean abandoning this one.

We’ll sort that out in a relaxed manner and see where the path leads. All the 980ish users here should at least have a say on that topic.

Thx a lot for the clarification.

I would say that I don't see the EU and Europe as being the same thing, so why not two communities? I would also suggest 'nature' will do its selection work all by itself, no need to decide for it. Finally, I would suggest it's not to one community to decide the future of another community.

But that's just me ;)

Couldn't agree more.

Finally, I would suggest it’s not to one community to decide the future of another community.

I've posted to !france@discuss.online to redirect people to !france@jllai.lu. There are only so many French speakers on Lemmy, at least let's stay on the same community.

There was !france@feddit.org too a while ago, but the creator wasn't aware that !france@jlai.lu existed. They removed their community since.

I'm on your page.
