Discussion of climate, how it is changing, activism around that, the politics, and the energy systems change we need in order to stabilize things.

As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades: Graph of temperature as observed with significant warming, and simulated without added greenhouse gases and other anthropogentic changes, which shows no significant warming

How much each change to the atmosphere has warmed the world: IPCC AR6 Figure 2 - Thee bar charts: first chart: how much each gas has warmed the world. About 1C of total warming. Second chart: about 1.5C of total warming from well-mixed greenhouse gases, offset by 0.4C of cooling from aerosols and negligible influence from changes to solar output, volcanoes, and internal variability. Third chart: about 1.25C of warming from CO2, 0.5C from methane, and a bunch more in small quantities from other gases. About 0.5C of cooling with large error bars from SO2.

Recommended actions to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the near future:

The plan seems to be to wreck everything and rule the rubble with an iron fist. I think that's really all there is to the plan.

If you can even call it a plan. I always chuckle at everyone trying to decipher the grand strategy behind the Trump chaos while it's pretty obvious that it's just absolute idiocy. No one is making any plans or thinks about actual outcomes. The utter ignorance is baffling, tbh.

It's dumber than that, imo. The goal is to hit a target fiscal quota (which they'll never do), and Melon Husk thinks he's smart enough to fix everything back up so it runs like a corporation (which will never work, because governments do much more than chase profits). And he can do it all while treating everything like a meme! /s

So it's somebody who thinks they have a plan, but really, he's just an edgelord manchild demonstrating how completely inept he is over and over again.

Also quite possible.

Really weird and sad though. It's a lot more fun to add a tiny bit to a vibrant society than to stomp on a rubble heap and throw tantrums

It is for most people. For narcissists and sociopaths the calculation works differently.
