For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.
No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.
Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Elon's Children
His first girl (not counting Vivian) was born in approx 2022. He has 14 kids, and they're almost all male. This isn't coincidence, especially since most of the early children were the result of IVF, where it's possible to select the sex. This is part of why he's so angry. He only wanted male children, he paid for male children, and one of his male children had the nerve to not be male in defiance of his wishes.
I can't stop thinking about a nominative determinism after seeing "Techno Mechanicus."

Why does his naming conventions feel like he's populating a Warhammer 40k fanfic? At first I was like "Well Vivian sounds normal" and then I remembered that she chose that name and her dead name (which fucking gross Elon posted) definitely fits the 40k paradigm.
I would bet that the names he chose, at least the ones that aren't "X" in some way (Xavier, Exa, X AE whatever) are probably white supremacist adjacent in some way, "Saxon" being an obvious one.
X could still be white Supremacy-esque. X in ASCII tables is 88 and 88 is a NeoNazi dogwhistle.
With anyone else it could have been a coincidence, but with fucking Elon...
"Saxon" also has an x in it. "Kai" is pronounced like the Greek letter chi (X). Dude's obsessed.

I wonder if he'd hate Vivian less if she'd chosen a name like Xena or Roxanne.

A bit off-topic: In a darwinistic sense selecting only male offspring via in-vitro-fertilization is a bad strategy (by Elon). Females are more likely to propagate their genes than males on average, but Musk does not care?
That's a bit like saying "It's illogical for Herr Hitler to mistreat the jews. If what he really cares about is the German People, surely that aim is best served by retaining expertise where it is available."

Also if he hadn't IVF'd Vivian, she'd have been born the right gender, female. Her dysphoria is literally his fault.

That's not how ivf works. More likely she wouldn't have been born at all because she would have had to compete with a few million sperm instead of being specifically chosen in a lab.

It would literally be a different person. Totally different genetic stew. There might be some similarities, there's the old nature vs nurture argument. I wouldn't imagine a different person would take the same lessons from the same stimuli every single time though. It's kind of like comparing you to your sibling. Youre not exactly the same I bet.
Hell, even taking the same exact embryo and swapping the chromosomes so she was AFAB would create a different person. Growing up trans and making the hard choice to transition is part of who she is. If you take that away there would be a chain reaction of differences down the line.
You don't have to be a teenager to be featured in teen vogue. Just interesting to teenagers (and I can understand why Vivian has the spotlight on her).
Also, that's not how genetics work. Vivian is the result of that specific egg and sperm. She never would've been born with XX chromosomes. Someone else would've been born.
If we want to laugh at Musk though, we can point out how the venn Diagramm of autistic people and trans people is practically a circle. Musk trying to select all "males" during IVF was always doomed to fail, especially the more kids he had. He's so dumb and desparate for control he thought he could pick his kids' identities through their very genetics.
I hope Vivian has a kick ass life just the way she is. :)
This is pretty much why I suspect that Elon Musk's transphobia is a case of "Methinks the lady doth protest too much."
the trans-autism connection is largely a transphobic dogwhistle and best not used, considering it's not really true.
I exaggerated for comedic effect, sure, but it is true. There is a statistically significant number of people who are autistic and identify as trans/non-binary as compared to neurotypical people.

sigh I would argue correlation over causation. autistic people are generally less likely to care about societal conformity and be open about their gender variance and gender diverse people are more likely to seek out a diagnosis. one is unlikely to be causing the other.
along with that, it's largely irrelevant and this type of rhetoric only aids right wing peoples in labeling gender diversity as mental illness in need of treatment and/or demonization.
