They are very campy and they know it. They're great. This is from RA3, which also has George Tikay in it as Imperialist Japan's Emperor.

but aren't they wildly anti-communist/soviet?

Yes, but War Bears

The Soviets are just so much cooler that it becomes pro-communist in the same way that people get the wrong message in Fight Club or Starship Troopers.

This shit just slaps.

The tanks running over the "welcome to Texas" sign is just chefs-kiss

Yup. Playing Red Alert 2 i always liked the Soviets more than the Americans even as a child when i had no clue what politics even were. Destroying the Pentagon was my favorite mission.

I mean yes and no. In the first game it turns out the Soviets were infiltrated by the Brotherhood of Nod who actually started WW2 by convincing Stalin to invade Europe.

The Allied side is obviously rife with anticommunist action but its a hyper campy story and its all hammed up to the extreme.

I mean, the whole thing is predicated on Einstein going back in time and killing Hitler.

In RA2 the Soviets are being controlled by a psychic.

Damn dude, anything but the depiction of the end of capitalism

Lol what do you want from a camp ass game from the 90s and 2000s? I pointed that out because its absolutely absurd. The whole game is wacko gonzo nonsense. Its supposed to evoke B movie type camp. Its over acted and under written. The gameplay is fun. The music rips.

Oh I was joking, your description sounds awesome

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 7 points 6 days ago

Ha! My bad, it is a wild set of games.

Soviet theme is so good that it doesn't matter
