They hate.
That's honestly enough. Republicans are filled with hate for anything that doesn't follow exactly how they expect people to live. They don't want freedom, they don't want expression, and they don't want anyone to be more happy or more successful than they are. That's why they hate so much and so hard, because other people's happiness and the freedom to achieve that happiness, pisses them off.
and how a lot of it works is that they think falling in line instead of being who you are is a righteous choice because that's what their family or community tortured them into doing. the radical conservatives think if they allow people to be gay, there will be no straight people. what a wild thing for someone who's themselves straight to think
Yup. They endured all the shitty things they were told to endure like church and regular beatings with a belt, and its very upsetting to them that other people think they have a right to their own idea of what a happy and healthy lifestyle looks like. If YOU can be happy without falling in line and doing what you're told to do by some dude that's interpreting a 3000 year old religious book, then what does that mean for how they have chosen to spend the last 50+ years of THEIR life?
Also a lot of them are simply just racist and either don't want to admit it to themselves, or don't want people outside of their close circle to know so that hate just boils up inside of them.
