This is a daily post for “casual” conversation. If you want to post or talk about something non autism related this is where to do it. For example if you want to info dump about your special interest but it doesn’t fall into “autism related” then you can post it here in the comments. All other rules are still active, be respectful to each other.

Back from Germany after a week long business trip. The combination of: being in a non-English setting, being around people much richer than I’ll ever be, being forced to socialize with coworkers, traveling, and jet lag = I am suuuuuuuper exhausted.

I felt an anxiety that would not go away for the longest time, and I can only describe it as consistent heartburn that my mind’s eye continually extrapolates into “does this mean your heart’s going to explode??” and felt extremities go numb. Even though my heart rate was near resting, I just felt like I was gonna collapse, and no amount of resting in bed made it stop.

…also I recently switched (at my therapist’s curiosity) from Lexapro to Prozac, and I don’t think the Prozac’s been working as well, which is a shame because I’m pretty sure some of my weight loss can be attributed to dropping Lexapro. C’est la vie.

Anyways, back home to my spouse and cats. Time to veg it up.

Oh yeah also my Reddit account of 18+ years (under the username /u/doug) was permanently banned lol and failed to appeal, so I deleted it. The comment that got me banned was saying something like “he should shut the rest of his body down too” in regards to a video of Trump falling asleep. I’m barely paraphrasing, but it was banned for encouraging violence. My bad.

Hey Doug. I just switched off of Lexapro and have lost about 6 lbs over the last month. I knew it made me tired, but I just didn't realize how much until it wasn't there anymore. My doctor switched me to Trintillix, which does seem to be working for me. Heads up though, it's really expensive, but their website has several programs that can help. Hopefully I can afford to stay on this one 🤞.

I have noticed it gives me weird dreams --see my other comment in this thread 😂.

Ooh, I’ll ask about that one, thanks for the tip!

Also I don’t have dreams/I tend to just black out and wake up (though I’m sure I dream and just don’t remember them, I seem to really not remember them; supposedly related to my alexithmya), so I’ll take any dreams over none.
