The original 97 Berserk anime (though the first episode is very weak), Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex, Black Lagoon (though it has definite... weak arcs which get too animesque), Girls Last Tour, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Space Dandy, and Pop-Team Epic, (roughly sorted from most serious to least) are all excellent series.
Ghost in the Shell, Jin-Roh, Perfect Blue, and Princess Mononoke (really, anything by Miyazaki) are all fantastic anime movies.
I can add, as guilty or semi-guilty pleasures, Canaan and Tsukikage Ran.
Oh, I forgot that anime wasn’t just for series and didn’t think about Miyazaki, but I’ve seen a bunch of those movies and loved them all.
