Israel just carried out a widespread bombing of Iran, which has killed a number of senior officials inside Iran (though it seems the leadership is more-or-less intact) as well as a number of civilians. Important facilities have been targeted, but the amount of damage is unknown so far (note that many important Iranian facilities are deep underground, making them both hard to damage but also hard to determine if they are damaged from just satellite imagery, so reports of damage will be he-said-she-said).
It appears the attack took Iran by surprise, given that a residential block was targeted that contained some senior officials - if one saw an attack coming, one would imagine they'd be in bunkers. Nonetheless, like the rest of the Resistance Axis, I suspect that Iran has adapted their military structures to be resistant to decapitation strikes by ensuring that replacement figures are ready to take the place of killed officials.
Iran has delivered a massive missile barrage in response to Israeli aggression, even though Israel is continuing to bomb Iran. Iran is now aware of the location of many important Israeli sites, including secret nuclear sites, due to their recent intelligence haul, giving them a distinct edge.

back when Matt and Virgil (I think it was them?) went on that lib interview and expressed that viewpoint I was like "woah, that's pretty edgy and controversial" but I was just a little baby leftist who had been told by the libs that the Middle East is just way too complicated so I didn't know what to think about it really. whereas nowadays, that's honestly conservative from my viewpoint. Iran should have a full nuclear triad, and so should Ansarallah, and Palestine too once they're a freed country

yeah, on Russia they've been kinda bad, very "both sides suck equally, both Russia and Ukraine have lost 294 trillion men because Putin dumb and stupid and Zelensky is a comedian drug addict" (which is still better than being a pro-Ukraine NATO dipshit like many western leftists), and I remember from the cushvlogs that Matt was very much a "China is 100% capitalist even though the party has some degree of control so as to remove the worst problems and the US and Chinese proletariat must link up to blah blah blah" guy. unsure how they've shifted since then as I only listen very intermittently at this point
I was a religious cushvlog watcher and you could kinda see Matt become more and more Chinapilled in real time. idk if he ever made it all the way way to "China is genuinely socialist," but I also think that's the kind of question Matt would probably have written off as unanswerable theorycrafting that people ruminate endlessly on mostly online - or otherwise in isolation - which they mistake for actually doing politics (I don't really have an opinion on whether that last part is right or wrong, just educated guessing where he'd be at during the later cushvlogs era).
