The black walls appeared overnight ahead of the show’s opening Monday, visually isolating Israeli booths from dozens of other international exhibitors. The Israeli Defense Ministry said the move followed a last-minute demand from organizers to remove offensive weapons systems from display — a request they rejected.

The [French] official said Israeli exhibitors were told weeks in advance that they couldn’t exhibit certain types of equipment, and that the walls were erected as a last resort when five of them didn’t comply. Four others did and are allowed to exhibit. The official did not elaborate on what kind of equipment was not allowed, or why.

The president and CEO of Israeli company IAI, Boaz Levy, said it has exhibited at the Paris Air Show for decades and had received authorizations to display its equipment.

‘’Last night, after our booth was set up and ready for the show, we were asked to remove some of our systems from the booth. We tried to negotiate with them, but it seems these orders came from the highest levels in Paris,’' he said in a statement. ‘’This morning, when we arrived at our booth, we were shocked to find out that we were blocked by black walls built overnight.’'

I agree and yet it is more than what my country is doing unfortunately. We have a rapist felon in Drumphkins, a proven government backer of murderers on Canadian soil in Modi, Meloni and her ultra fascism amongst others here for a visit. Our government and private institutions also support the genocide happening to the Palestinians. Numerous journalists and professors have been fired for what they've said or written. Regular citizens as well. A highschool graduate valedictorian in Ottawa was just told by her highschool not to come back to school for the rest of the year for simply recognising the genocide in Palestine at the end of her graduation speech this past weekend. It wasn't even the main topic of her speech but a byline at the end.

We also have a PM that wants to pass laws that put us further into the class war and war on immigrants and minorities that we currently wage even though we thought a few short months ago we were voting against such action. They're all invited and gathered together surrounded by the highest security in the world to discuss all our futures at the G7. They are in a place where they can easily avoid protests or even seeing them and there is no interaction with any of the people they actually represent because they seem terrified someone will hurt or kill them. I wonder why...

Every little bit of resistance, anywhere, is good and should be praised.
