I want my day mildly ruined, not completely ruined. Please remember to refrain from reposting old content. If you post a post from reddit it is good practice to include a link and credit the OP. I'm not about stealing content!
It's just good to get something in this website for casual viewing whilst refreshing original content is added overtime.

have fun finding a lemmy community on a niche topic thats active
TV show discussions threads, game-specific forums.
I mean... some decided they don't like reddit and migrated...

So yea, pick your poison, normies ain't coming here, the Fediverse is a nerd platform.
Because I like pit bulls and deisel VW's. Nobody here likes them enough to post every day ...or even once a month ...or even once every 6 months...maybe once a year

Ha yeah all the niche stuff isn't here yet but with reddit really fucking shit up on the reg its going to get better.
Lemmy is just cooler. When those communities get going they will be better over here.

Well discord doesn't ban you for jokes about killing pedos and most probably haven't heard of lemmy to know of any other option
discord allows exclusive to niche users thats why. some influencers who used reddit in the past couldnt handle the criticism, so they fled to facebook or discord which has more control of comments criticising them.
It is still a very good place to have information on a variety of topics.
I don't use it for discussion, but for some information/support it is helpful to have a larger community to discuss with. I stay the fuck away from anything that has a hint of controversy though.
I hate that still some troubleshooting that I need to do is much easier when I look for answers through Reddit...
there is almost no topic specific activity here, aside from Linux and unix
they haven't yet banned all the anti genocide people.
Given the general demographics of Reddit, it would just be a bunch of bots left if they did this.
