The number of charities revealing their donors have had personal information leaked to the dark web is growing, as the tally of Australians implicated exceeds 50,000.

And they will see zero repercussions for this breach.

"In November last year, the federal government introduced severe new penalties for companies involved in serious privacy breaches, raising the maximum fine to $50 million dollars."

"But the ABC can confirm there has not been a single fine issued against a company since it was introduced nine months ago."
