I don't know man, but I feel like I'm supporting a maniac CEO with every second I spend on reddit.

I originally joined in 06 and kept the same account until ‘10. I came back a few years later but it was on and off after that. I didn’t purge my 1st account when I deactivated it but every account afterwards I deleted all posts and comments after 24 hours regardless.

To answer your question, no, because I deactivated an empty account the same day the go dark announcements started and have not been back. I had seen it before, and between mod behavior over the years, ownership changes and lack of G.A.F.F from admin I have no desire to return. Quite frankly the cycle repeats itself with reddit and it became more tedious every time.

I was an early Digg user as well but after the crap they started I quit there too. Frankly I had forgotten Digg existed until some of the Reddit coverage mentioned it. I’m pretty sure I will only be reminded Reddit is still a thing each time reddit pulls another user unfriendly stunt and the news cycle starts again.

When I came back this last time, I used old. with ublock origin and other filters because Advance Publications lost white list privileges long ago.

I’ve dipped into a few of these other lesser known/new sites to see what comes of it. So far my preferences are Lemmy and Mastodon, although I’ve been lurking Mastodon here and there even before the twitter crap.
