There are those people in our lives whose claim to fame are things we would never think of as a pathway to fame. Although there are other reasons they're well known, this could easily describe my two best friends. They have made photobombing a passionate hobby of theirs, to the point where they're like celebrities because of their dedication to it.
For those of you who don't know, photobombing refers to (intentionally or accidentally) sneaking oneself in the background of photos as someone somewhere is taking them, often in humorous ways but sometimes just happening to be in the right place at the wrong (right?) time. There is a running joke amongst people who know us because I am known as "the village photographer" and here they are, known for photobombing to such an extent that not only do they have the de facto world record for it (I couldn't make that up, that really is an accomplishment of theirs) but they also turned it into a thing they do for charity as well as PSA's and secret messages. If it takes skill to track down anyone in town about to use their camera, dress for the part (sometimes in cosplay), and think of something to do in the background and where to do it at the exact moment, they make it look incredibly easy, like they get visions ahead of time alerting them of where a photo is going to be taken.
I was looking through pictures today and don't think I've laughed like I did today all year. I was on someone's random profile and saw a picture of a safari zone with a camel eating from the feed of someone who was passing through in their vehicle, and there they were in the background wearing tribal clothes peeking out from behind a faraway tree. I could've memed it.
So here I am asking about photobombs since these all connect. What is your history with photobombs, where did what resulted from it end up, and what favorites might you have?
I love doing them in Disneyland.
Especially the Asian visitors respond so good.
Do you do anything specific in them? Or just hide?
Usually just grin and stare into the camera, sometimes I make bunny ears or such, nothing elaborate like yours.
