Currently in production, the film is the follow up to the micro-budget British slasher that cost under $100,000 to make and earned $5.2 million globally.

follow-up to the micro-budget British slasher that went viral last year for its childhood-bludgeoning premise, became one of the most talked about films of 2023

I have literally never heard of the original movie.

Do 'journalists' just get to decide something is massively popular because two people talked about it on social media?

Funny how you universally decide something isn't well known just because you didn't know it, while bashing others for hypothetically doing the same.

In my circle's it was well known.

Your individual knowledge or ignorance of the movie, doesn't mean anything to its popularity.

I'm sure there are many very popular things, which you and I both know nothing about.

What rock have you been living under? I could not escape this movie when the discourse was at its peak. I can absolutely believe it was one of the most talked about movies.
