My old person trait is that I think 'ghosting' is completely unacceptable and you owe the other person a face-to-face conversation.

Dumb TVs, its either 1.5k plus or you will literally never find one. I don't wanna be profiled or have some stupid android is on it. All it needs to do is display images on screen.

Not necessarily, I've seen "smart" tvs that require internet to have any level of functionality :(

I would imagine a lot of those get returned, because 10-20% (estimates vary widely) of US households don't have Internet.

Yeah the smart ones are cheaper due to being subsidised by the sale of the data they can suck from them.

You can get a 50" Hisense dumb TV for about $300 on Amazon. The picture isn't as good as some of the other brands, but it's still serviceable.
