For very confused Americans, Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October not November. Our Thanksgiving also doesn't have the association with pilgrims and natives either.

Gobble gobble. For those who will be eating turkey today, eat a lil extra for me. Haven't had a Thanksgiving dinner in years and I'm dying a little on the inside. π

No, that's not true. We call Thanksgiving Thanksgiving. They're two completely different holidays. We don't celebrate Columbus day at all here in Canada. There's literally no connection at all outside of the date being the same and even that wasn't part of the original holiday.

And it's obviously not your government that's wrong, it's the other person's government that doesn't even recognize the holiday.
