Tbh most of the distinction is between cities and towns, which are much more developped both socially and economically and the countryside which is poor, and still completely in the grip of the catholic church.

East and west also matters, but less.

Thank you for the clarification... Yes, it's the same in my country too. "Grip" is not the word I would use for the situation here, the Church does not enslave anyone nor it demand tithes on the harvest as in the Middle Ages any more, they too evolved! ๐Ÿ˜
