Yet another article about the same polls. How about the fact that dems outperformed all polling expectations in the elections this week?
Also, a poll 1 year out means almost nothing. Even right after Bernie lost, I said I'd never support Hilary and would vote 3rd party. Then I realized I was being young and dumb and actually turned out to vote.
Dems over-performed polling in 2018, 2020, 2022, and now 2023. But sure, this poll has its fingers on the pulse of the young people.
We should act as if young people might not vote for Biden so we can work even harder to make sure they will.
Absolutely. A lot of misinformation shows up in polls and statistics far ahead of an election. It's free to air your grievances in a poll. Makes no difference. When push comes to shove, young voters will come out to vote for Biden if he's the Democratic nominee.
Because they’re not voting for Biden, their options are “Trump” and “Not Trump”.
More than that. It's "fascism" and "not fascism." Nobody is fooled that Nikki Haley or Ron DeSantis are anything other than.
I say this knowing Trump is almost certainly going to win the nomination, but he's old, unhealthy, facing real prison time in three lawsuits, and the loss of his financial empire in the other. That level of stress isn't good for anyone, and nobody lives forever.
@Telorand I think he lost the "not fascism" vote by providing direct military support to an ongoing genocide
I have to disagree. One act supporting genocide of another nation doesn't a fascist make. Fascism is an ideology characterized by several components, such as racial or ideological purity, focus upon social control through military might, having explicit in- and out-groups, dehumanizing rhetoric, etc.
Biden is a self-avowed Zionist (possibly because he doesn't really know what that word means), and he was glib in his support for Israel, but you cannot tell me, in good faith, that he has ever demanded ideological purity from his supporters or dehumanized his detractors.
Calling Biden a fascist is an unjustifiably reductive take, and it doesn't actually do anything but confuse ignorant people into thinking he's just as bad as Trump, an actual fascist who on Veterans Day called people on the Left "vermin."
@Telorand it's one hundred percent black and white for me and your ambivalence on the matter disgusts me.
It's 100% not black and white for me, and your overuse of the word "fascist" to the point of irrelevance disgusts me.
See, I can play this ad hominem game, too. You can take your high horse and go fuck off.
@Telorand I'll moralize any genocide denying evil fuck I want
Yes, obviously you will. And you still don't know what a fascist is.
I wrote in Bernie but that's because the state I lived in went for Clinton by like 80 points.
