I'd like to listen to my favourite album, but first I need to find a pencil.
But, can't you just flip it and use FF? Unless you're worried about the tape snapping at the end...
The point is that our favorite cassettes would get overused so much that the tape would start to vomit itself out every time you try to fast forward or rewind. So you have to do it manually slowly with a pencil.
