As a lover and owner of both decks (sold the lcd one), I disagree with you.

It's half the price of the cheapest deck and if you're a console gamer that owns a ps5, there's several other reasons for this to exist.

Saves between ps5 and this, for one. Also, playing your ps5 game on the shitter, in bed, or while next to your spouse while watching TV, or for a family member to play their ps5 game in their room or anywhere else while another family member is using the TV. It's also lighter, plays for 7 hours on a charge, regardless of graphic intensity which is compared to 2 hours on an SD OLED for demanding games, it has a bigger screen, and it's a higher resolution.

I'm primarily a pc gamer and have been for decades, so for me the SD is an absolute choice. But for someone with a PS5 who wants a hand system to play ps5 and ps4 games on around the house when they aren't in front of the TV? The portal is a great option. It's a 1080p 8" screen and battery sitting between an $80 ps5 controller.

You also don't even want to buy the cheap steamdeck that's $400. It's lcd and only 256GB, so you're looking at at least having to buy the $550 one with the OLED screen and 512GB space. So really you're talking about having to spend nearly triple the price to get a steam deck, and if you just want to play your ps5 around the house, that's a really dumb choice.
