He told friends he was going there to drive an ambulance, but in an interview admitted he had become a 'soldier of the new Russia' after reading pro-Communist propaganda online.

Was homeless and a heroin addict. Thinks Russia is Communist, apparently. Nazi, no. Chucklefuck, yes.

Honestly, I'm so confused why radical leftists are so pro Russia. It's not like they're communist anymore. In fact, they're an authoritarian kleptocracy, which sounds like the type of government the folks on hexbear and lemmygrad would like the least.

Even some people that experience the "real, existing socialism" can be pro russia....and they had to experience the worst part of it.

"But we had work back then and funny parades" is a hell of a nostalgia drug.

Also the way worse option of we had work often comes into play from people who lived in the Soviet Union and now have a stable job: everybody had to work or you were homeless/starved! Nobody could slouch off of my hard earned tax money and live a comfy life!

Which is like, what? The bare minimum socialism a country could have aka "if you are out of work (hopefully temporarily but we'll see) we are at least not letting you starve completely/immediately" is somehow too much now‽

The simple answer is Russian propaganda.

Sadly, some leftist brothers and sisters are fooled into supporting an authoritarian, imperialist, murdering kleptocracy.
